Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question about Our classes and events? Want to know more about Our mission, demographics, and presenters? Find the answers to the most frequently asked questions here!

1. Where are your events hosted?
Our public events are proudly hosted by Metropolitan Studios in East Atlanta village.
Metropolitan Studios- Monthly class the first Saturday of each month and quarterly (ish) outreach events/fundraisers. www.metrostudioseav.com
2. How do I purchase a ticket?
Ticket links are listed on all class and events here on this website and on Fetlife. Most of Our tickets are available through Eventbrite so be sure to follow KinkEd Atlanta on that platform! Metropolitan Studios hosts their own tickets on their website for the monthly classes held there.
3. How old do you have to be to attend your events?
All of Our events are 21 and up. We often set up a donation bar to help fund the educational endeavors or Our group, therefore we limit admittance to those of legal drinking age. We do check IDs onsite for each event to ensure compliance with this policy.
We will sometimes make exceptions to those 18 and up for educational only events with no alcohol present. However, we are still adult themed so you must be legally of age for the subject matter covered in the class.
4. Can I just show up and purchase a ticket onsite?
All classes and events are listed as far in advance as possible for planning seating, staff, food and beverage, etc. Many of these events are catered and require advanced ticket purchasing. The deadline for tickets is also published in advance for your planning.
Metropolitan Studios is a public location with a posted address. We will gladly accept walk ins/door payment when space allows. However, may classes sell out/fill up. We will not accept any more people once we have reached capacity. Please plan ahead!
5. What methods of payment do you take?
We accept cash, Cash App ($KinkEdAtlanta) and Venmo (@KinkEdAtlanta). We do not have the ability currently to accept credit or debit cards in person. However, you can purchase tickets via Eventbrite and Metropolitan's website using cards.
6. Do you have parking?
Metropolitan Studios events have onsite parking behind the building and in the driveway. Street parking is also available. Because of parking limitations in the city, we always encourage car pooling and Uber/Lyft whenever possible.
7. Are male D-types welcome at your events?
Yes! While we are female owned, run, and led, we do not discriminate based on gender or D/s identity. Our only requirements are respect and consent for everyone in attendance. We enjoy friendships with our male D type presenters, collaborators, and donors!
8. What is the Atlanta Dungeon Membership requirement for events?
The Atlanta Dungeon is a private group. In order to attend KinkEd Atlanta events hosted in conjunction with them, a Dungeon Membership is required. Memberships are only available onsite/in person, not online! A requirement of membership is an in person ID check to ensure compliance with Our age restrictions.
In addition to ID verification, we also require that each Member sign a basic liability waiver acknowledging the inherent risk associated with BDSM activities. This includes signing off that you have received, read, and understand Our Dungeon and event rules and policies. These documents are standard/in line with similar requirements of other Dungeons and BDSM events.
Currently, the cost of a Membership is only $5 for one year. Please note that this price structure is increasing/changing for 2025 and more info will be forthcoming.
9. How do you choose your classes and presenters?
One of the main missions of KinkEd Atlanta is to provide knowledgeable and quality educators and presenters at all of our classes and events. This means we are quite picky about who teaches for us. Here are some qualities taken into consideration when choosing classes and presenters.
What classes are currently lacking in the local scene?
What classes will gain enough momentum to bolster attendance?
Which classes cover the most relevant safety information?
Who is available to teach classes people will show up for?
Is the subject matter equitable and engaging for a maximum number of people?
For the people teaching...
How long have they been actively practicing bdsm or their kink/fetish?
How long have they been involved in the community?
What is the relevant experience level?
Who did they learn from? When? Where?
Do they have professional skills/knowledge/credentials that align with kink?
Do they have any teaching or presenting experience?
What is their motivation for teaching?
What kind of reputation/character does the person teaching have?
What kind of energy does the presenter bring to the class?
These are the types of questions we ask when making our selections. If you think you would like to teach for us or have something valuable to share, please take the time to send over a presenter application available through Google Docs HERE.
10. How can I volunteer with KinkEd Atlanta?
We now have a volunteer application via Google Docs. The majority of our larger events only happen thanks to the volunteers. Keep your eyes open for volunteer calls and other opportunities via social media @KinkEdAtlanta. Volunteers often receive discounted or free entry as well as other special perks.
Find the volunteer application HERE
11. Where can I donate?
KinkEd Atlanta actively accepts donations in a variety of forms. While we are always happy to take cash contributions, we relish cross promotion with Our local community businesses and vendors. We are fortunate to have several companies donate products for raffle, auction, and general distribution. This is a great method of networking and community building- a big thank you to Our supporters!
Beyond material donations, the donation of time and energy is also highly valuable. Want to give back but don't have the financial means? Consider volunteering with us!
Monetary donations can be sent anytime via CashApp ($KinkEdAtlanta) or Venmo (@KinkEdAtlanta). Please write "donation" in the subject line!
12. What are the aftercare bags? What comes in them?
As an educational and community centric business, we enjoy contributing and giving back! One of the ways we do this is to encourage good aftercare practices and looking out for one another. Our aftercare bags are purchased and donated by Atlanta Dungeon. Community sponsors and private donors then contribute to fill them up with common aftercare supplies such as first aid items, snacks, water, and comfort products. KinkEd Atlanta coordinates and fills these bags for handing out at conferences and larger events. Be sure to find one at Frolicon next spring! For more info, check out the podcast "What's in the Bag?" on YouTube.
13. Do I have to be vetted to attend a class?
Events and classes held at Metropolitan Studios are public and do not require vetting. We do, however, reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone for any reason we deem necessary for the safety and security of all present.
Private class attendees are reviewed on a case by case basis. Class vetting is slight as we want to encourage everyone to get educated! We again reserve the right to deny entry to anyone for any reason to protect ourselves and our audiences.
Private events are vetted. You become vetted by attending classes and public events. Other options include attending with an already vetted/trusted sponsor.
14. Can you come teach for our group/conference/etc.?
If time and space allow in Our schedules, We are always happy to cross promote with other educators and groups as they align with Our mission. Please note that many of Our presenters require compensation for their time and energy. That said, you can often find at least one of Us teaching voluntarily at conferences such as Frolicon, FetishCon, SELF, and DomCon. Please contact us directly for more information.
15. Are you queer/LGBTQIA+ friendly?
YES! Our staff and most of our volunteers and supporters are queer identifying. We endeavor to make everyone feel welcome and accepted in our spaces regardless or sexual or gender identity. Many of our attendees use our classes and events to express their individuality and We are thrilled they feel comfortable enough to do that!
